Comic update!

This week starts an 8 page comic that will contain abortion, domestic violence, and various other uncomfortable topics, so if that sounds like something that will upset you, don't read it.

Instead, you can go see Adell and Rozalin's thoughts on politics.

Wow, I totally forgot about this journal for a while, didn't I...

Anyway, webcomic update!

Next week the webcomic will once again pick up on Manon and Yuri's story. Are you excited? I might be excited. |Db

Burning Blood is likely the best decor item to exist in Soul Nomad. Demon Force for everybody! Eat this, you blasted dracon squads! ... Though, Spite Promise is pretty good, too.

Time for me to do some more level grindin'~

Webcomic update!

Page 2 of a five page comic is up. I'll be putting up another page on FRIDAY, that's right, because after that I'm off to travel Europe and so the next page won't go up until May 18th.

Hahahaha wow yesterday was amazing. Hope I didn't worry anybody with my lj post about how drunk I was XD;;; anyway, I have photos from the opening, haha! the best art opening ever )

Finally got around to drawing some fanart I owe 'Dia for her crossover drabbles. I still need to write a couple, eugh. XD; Anyway, have a little drawing from the YGO and Kingdom Hearts bit that she wrote.

Webcomic update!

New comic begins! 5 page story about the adventures of Sam and her classmates at set dancing. Magically, Sam does not appear on page one, however she is in the four following pages.

Finally drew something on my Tegaki account just so something would be there. Will spend more time on tegaki things when I am not going crazy at the end of the semester hahaha. I like commenting more, anyway... XD

Webcomic update!

Based entirely on actual events, save for the inclusion of Mr. Mascot. Heheh, I should draw him more often, I love that a little character I created solely for a contest has grown to get his own personality and backstory and shows up in my comics from time to time. He's kind of like my own Asagi, now that I think on it. XD

Webcomic update!

new comic + new fanart! Well, the fanart is not new if you checked the fanarts in yesterday's entry, actually... XD

Happy Easter, as well!

And, on an entirely unrelated note: If you lived in a fantasy world, would you pine for products mass produced by assembly line?

Webcomic update!

I must admit, I was inspired by Perry Bible Fellowship in the making of this. X3

A quick Project Chanology update. Disappointed (this is an understatement) in police in Georgia, but proud of Anonymous in Georgia.

Finally got around to reading some of Frank Miller's Batman, that is to say, the things that came before the shit-tastic All Star Batman and Robin run that is going now. Batman: Year One is worth the read if only for the beautiful art by Mazzuchelli. God, I love that artwork so much. The Dark Knight Returns is not bad--well, I enjoyed reading it a lot, actually--and probably features the only female character Frank Miller's ever written who's not a whore. Female Robin in that story is A+ and the best part of the whole thing if you ask me.

Of course, I'm still not fond of Frank Miller's writing--there's, quite honestly, too much writing in those books, and though shalt never use cursive font and lowercase letters in comics, it's just a bad idea. Too much internal monologue. Also, too many whores. Cat Woman should not be a whore. She just shouldn't. And in Dark Knight Returns, you have Superman and Green Arrow and the Joker and Two-Face all taking such prominent roles, you know what Cat Woman does? She leaves Batman a phone message consisting of "I'm lonely," and then she gets taken hostage by the Joker. And out of all those characters, she's the only one to get fat and out of shape over the passage of twenty years.

But you know, if you get the chance to borrow Batman: Year One (actually, due to Mazzuchelli's amazing art, that one's actually worth buying) or to borrow The Dark Knight Returns, they do make for good reading.

Webcomic update!

Baaaaaaah.

Beat Secret of Mana this morning. I killeded a mana beast. =[

So the world is saved, but the main characters suffer horribly in the process. Nice.

Man, I wouldn't have gone back to that shitty-ass village though. I'd have shacked up with Phanna.

So, when held against other Super Nintendo games... I would rate this under Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past. Secret of Mana probably actually has a little bit more character development than LttP, haha! But maybe it's just the nostalgia factor, that Zelda game still has my heart. I'd rate both of them under Chrono Trigger, though.

It's been too long since I last beat Illusion of Gaia, so I'm not sure how that ranks up to Secret of Mana. And Secret of Mana is probably a bit more epic than Spike McFang, though I'd still rate them about the same.

All in all, a good game! Though my boy character did disappear in the middle of one of the boss fights and I had to restart, ha ha ha. He was just gone! Crazy.

In other news, I started reading Maka-Maka.

Webcomic update!

There has been some style experimentation recently. This is one direction it has taken and it is very fun but I'm not sure where else to take it yet. What I can do with it. Of course only time and more trial and error will tell.

I'm stuck at a certain point in Secret of Mana and it's kind of aggravating. A visit to gamefaqs may be in order. I also dislike how the two characters you're not controlling can get stuck behind corners and enemies, but I understand the limitations of the technology they were working with...

I wonder if those characters have official names. (edit: they kind of do. A quick trip to Wikipedia reveals their names and a buttload of spoilers, orz.) Fountain of creativity that I am, I named my main character Sam, the princess Marle, and the sprite Gau.

Webcomic update!

This concludes that 4 page story, so, THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOT IN IRELAND, how well does this communicate to you?

Beat that Sailor Moon SNES game finally. The ending was... all right. Predictable, happy endings for everybody, but good. Maybe not worth the time I put into it, but the satisfaction of beating it finally made it worthwhile. never did get all those goddamn puzzle pieces, though.

So, started playing Secret of Mana, which is good so far. I'm not in love with it yet, but I do know what I'll be doing on the plane trip Tuesday, so!

Time for horrible drabbles! Bad fanfic meme--not to say that the meme is bad, just that my fics are. And here I had previously resolved not to badtalk my own work like that anymore. )

Can upload the songs used for anybody who wants them. o/

Webcomic update!

In addition to a second page of my walking-home story, there is now... an interview. An interview with a real comic artist! Go check it out. The victi--um. Interviewee? Is one Aaron Alexovich, artist and writer of Serenity Rose and Kimmie66, as well as the artist on Confessions of a Blabbermouth and an issue of Fables. Aw yeah. If you haven't checked out any of those books, check them out. Now.

I was going to put photos on this post too, but I am le lazy. Went to the horse races today and am bushed. Also am utterly broke. (These two items are not ... really... connected! Honest!)

Am now reading Megatokyo regularly, in addition to my other 4 webcomics I check. The art's not perfect, but man. It's been updating regularly for so long and the plot has really evolved... sometimes I want to smack the characters very much, but I was really enjoying reading it. Largo, Junpei, and Miho are easily my favourites of the cast. Hayasaka is up there, too.

Webcomic Update!

I'm interested to get feedback for this little story, because everybody who lives here knows exactly what it's about, but I want to know how well it communicates to those of you who are, you know, not here. |D Maybe I'll ask again when I post the last page, how well it went.

Photo time! CRAB ISLAND OLIOLIOOOO )

Webcomic update!

Sorry guys, forgot to mention on Wednesday that I was off to Dublin for the weekend and wouldn't have internet. Anyway, thus concludes the crabbing story, and we now return to updates once a week Sunday.

Details of my Dublin trip plus more photos will have to come later--the internet was out when I wanted to update earlier today, and now it's almost 10 PM. In short, I still have to walk home!

Webcomic update!

So this last weekend was spent in Galway. Shop street is rather amazing, and there's also some lovely architecture. I mean, it's all churches/cathedrals, but hey. That's where the money for art used to go, so that's where a lot of good old art is. The St. Joseph prayers were a little bit creepy, though...... I mean, in theory, it's good? But that level of... devoutness? kind of scares me. It was very... dedicated.

Um.

On a completely unrelated note, I am so very excited for Disgaea 3. And, unrelated to that, I probably won't be able to watch any Avatar while I'm here, the internet being what it is. So I'll catch up when I get back home sometime in May.

Webcomic Update!

I'm so happy that pubs here are so much classier than in the states. It's not smokey and icky, it's just pretty cool. Set dancing lessons were buckets of fun!

Slowly getting over internet withdraw. This one-or-two hours every couple days thing works out all right I guess!

First Webcomic Update of the new year, is it? Comes with a new image in the gallery, too, one I'm pretty proud of.

Man, I am enjoying myself a whole lot here. I don't even know. I live in a house with eleven other people and there's a great communal atmosphere, with all of us running around at 8:30 in the fucking morning trying to get ready before the bus shows up. Dinnertime is great too, though we don't all eat at the same time. I seem to go to bed a few hours before most but dammit I really do need my ten or so hours. =[

Well, tonight is Set Dancing lessons, and I have a lot of walking to do before I get to the village, so I really ought to run. Later!
