I haven't been using ye old IJ for a while since I've been traveling, and using my livejournal because my teacher checks it and it kind of helps my grade. It's complicated but it works, I guess. But anyway, I came here today to check my flist and it seems like it's... gone? XD; There's only one entry on it. But I checked everybody's journals individually then and they're still there, so... weird, I dunno. I guess other people haven't been using IJ much lately either. (But I'll always come back here for the 100 free icons.)

Anyway. Today I watched the first episode of that Higurashi no Naku Koro ni thing. First episode is boring and poorly animated, I have yet to see a reason to watch the second episode. =\

I keep reading new things on onemanga.com too, haha. I'm supposed to be traveling and seeing the world, not reading manga. Though today I'm sick and it really is better that I stay in and don't do much of anything, it seems like such a waste... oh well. Chii's Sweet Home is absolutely adorable, would read and squeal again. The new version of Neon Genesis Evangelion doesn't bear much resemblance to the original, and doesn't seem very unique... Maybe later it will get better? I'll still read it for Kaoru, anyway. X3;;

I should go watch some more Monster Rancher...

Still want a Zelda anime. |D;

Mmm, yeah. I kept hearing the name around so I thought I would give it a look, but unless somebody I really trust tells me it's awesome, I am content to leave it at only having seen one episode. I kept seeing all the versions of the opening redrawn with other anime, and yeah they were kind crappy, but I didn't think the actual opening would be just as bad! No wonder everybody parodies that one, it probably takes all of five minutes to do.

	Some people I know really love it, but you have to watch the entire first season before you know what the plot is, and then the plot is really convoluted and dumb. (Reply to this) (Parent)

Don't let the first episode of Higurashi dissuade you from watching the show. The first episode is *TERRIBLE*... but if you keep watching, I guarantee you'll be hooked by the end of episode three.

And by the end, you will be DAMN hooked. It's not the most well-written of shows (there's a lot of convenient exposition), but the story is just this amazingly complicated web of mystery that just comes together SO AMAZINGLY WELL at the end, you can't help but be impressed. Like, seriously, it's one of the most amazing anime storylines I've ever seen. 51 episodes of pure awesomeness.

But you can't really tell any of that from episode 1. Episode 1 is a necessary evil... it's needed for the show, but it's really not very good. Not very good at all.
